VP of Midsummer Evening Baseball: Aaron Wenthold
For players entering K through 5th grade in the 2021-2022 school year. The season runs 6 weeks from July 19 through August 26, 2021. Registration typically opens in February and closes June 15th or until full. The registration fee is $120.
Teams are organized based on such factors as schools and efforts are made to match play-with request, although this is not always possible. Teams are led by a Parent Coach; it is ideal to have 2-3 coaches per team. Please consider coaching and complete Coach Registration.
Midsummer Evening Baseball is for players in K thru 5th grade on Sept 1, 2021.
- K-3rd grade play Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday (chosen at registration)
- 4/5th grade play two evenings during the week
- Location: Rotate between the smaller Edina fields
- Objective and basic structure: Continued exposure to baseball using coach pitched and/or hitting tee games focused on teaching baseball skills and engaging the players.
Midsummer Evening rules will be designed to create a fun and an engaging environment based on grade level.
Players will receive a team T-shirt and baseball cap. Players are expected to provide their own baseball pants, baseball glove and wear non-metal cleats or sneakers. While not required, players should begin wearing a protective cup by 9-10. The league provides bats and batting helmets, but players are also welcome to bring their own. Please bring a water bottle and label everything including your player's cap and bat (if you bring one).
2021 Summer Teams are posted early July under the TEAMS tab above.
